Kelly Rowland’s favorite beauty product costs $2
When it comes to beauty, Kelly Rowland knows that less is more.
“A simple, clean, fresh look is always a plus,” the 39-year-old singer told Page Six Style, adding that she reaches for a $2 drugstore staple to add an instant glow in seconds.
“I put Vaseline on the tops of my cheeks or down my nose, and use it a little bit [under] my eyes,” she said. “It just highlights the perfect parts of your face.”
That’s not the only hack Rowland, who says she’s “obsessed” with beauty, has up her sleeve. “One of my favorites is definitely using eyelash glue to cover a pimple,” she told us. “And you can have a cute little beauty mark!”
Now, the Destiny’s Child star is preparing to spill more of her top tips and tricks from her 20-plus years in the spotlight: On Thursday, she and her hairstylist, Kahh Spence, and makeup artist, Wendi Miyake, will host an Amazon Treasure Truck Beauty Spotlight livestream taking fans behind the scenes of her routine.
“It was exciting for me to be able to have this really fun moment with viewers to talk about all things beauty,” explained the “Coffee” singer, who previously told us she also swears by Shani Darden Retinol Reform ($88) and Honest Beauty Magic Beauty Balm ($12.99).
“I’m excited to have my glam team do this with me — they have so many beauty secrets. We have so much fun together. I wanted people to feel like they were in the glam room with us as we were getting ready for any big event.”
When Rowland collaborates with Spence and Miyake on a look, she continued, “It’s really a vibe!”
“We love good music. We like to crack jokes and be silly and even on days where we just have photoshoots, we like to try new things with hair and makeup,” she said. “And we just want to be able to share all those moments with everyone watching and tuning in.”
And while Rowland’s stunned on many a red carpet and stage over the years, she revealed that she feels most beautiful when she’s in the bath, having washed off her makeup and slathered on a homemade face mask made from either avocado or charcoal.
“If you need to find me and I’m having an off day, just know I’m in the bathtub!” she laughed, referring to herself in the third person. “She needs to feel cute right now!”
Fans can tune in to watch Rowland and her glam squad spill their secrets on Thursday, December 3, at 5 p.m. ET on Amazon Beauty Spotlight.
