LeBron James and Jennifer Lopez Executive Produce New Digital Series
Trapped inside with nothing to watch? LeBron James, Jennifer Lopez and more have executive produced new series as a part of the launch of Quibi on April 6.
King James is bringing I PROMISE, an original documentary on the opening of his I Promise School in 2018. The series tells the stories of LeBron and his work on bridging the achievement gap in Akron, Ohio. The series will explore the day-to-day trials, triumphs, and life-changing impact of the school staff, students and families working together in a unique, family-first educational environment that embraces the trauma and challenges many face in Akron.
Jennifer Lopez brings out Thanks A Million, a series that features grateful public figures who kickstart a chain of kindness by gifting $100,000 to an unsuspecting individual who must pay it forward.
Along with those two, Offset brings Skrrt with Offset, showing off his love for cars, including his own garage which features 30 sports and luxury cars. Guests he brings to the series include his wife Cardi B, and friends like Chance the Rapper, Jay leno and, of course, his Migos squad Offset and Takeoff.
“Quibi will give me a chance to connect with my fans in yet another way,” said Offset. “They don’t know how much I know about cars for real. This platform will let them see there is more to me than just buying cars.”
Additional shows to launch include &MUSIC that explores music beyond the songs and musicians, Singled Out hosted by Keke Palmer and Joel Kim Booster, a dance competition hosted by Usher called THE SAUCE and You Ain’t Got These a sneaker culture show executive produced by Lena Waithe.
