Lewis Hamilton thanks fans for supporting him through ‘low moment’
“I want to thank those of you who have taken the time to send beautiful messages,” wrote the Formula One driver, 34, on Instagram. “Sympathy was not what I was looking for but I am so grateful to you for the positive waves and love you sent anyway.”
Hamilton spoke about having a “low moment” that prompted the original post — which worried fans due to its bleak tone, with the athlete writing, “Honestly, I feel like giving up on everything. Shut down completely. Why bother when the world is such a mess and people don’t seem to care.”
In his new post, Hamilton also called out “media mostly” for trying to bring him down “with their hatred and negativity” following his first message.
“I just wanted to let you know that I forgive you,” Hamilton added, “And it has only given me more fuel to push on. I will only get stronger from this.”
