Mark dishes on the ‘Love Is Blind’ wedding finale shocker
Mark Cuevas is the breakout fan favorite on Netflix’s wild reality series “Love Is Blind.” After the dramatic finale that dropped pre-dawn Thursday, he reflects on his TV dating experience to The Post.

In the 10th and final episode of “Love Is Blind,” Cuevas, a 25-year-old fitness trainer from Atlanta with the personality of a human golden retriever, gets dramatically left at the altar by Jessica Batten, 34, the show’s resident mess.
On-screen in the finale, as she runs out of the room in her wedding gown, two women in the crowd whisper to each other, “This is so embarrassing for her.”
It’s not surprising to viewers who first watch Jessica waffle over whether to choose the sensitive friendly Mark or the fratty Barnett.
The show, which Netflix released over the course of three weeks, features contestants who meet and talk to each other through a wall and, without ever seeing each other, get engaged. Once they finally meet face to face, as fiancés, they go out into the real world, vacation together, move in together, meet each other’s friends and family, and, finally, get married.
Once Jessica and Mark met in real life (after fellow contestant Barnett picked Amber, so Jessica came back to Mark), Jessica then agonized over whether she was really attracted to him, and whether their age gap meant they were too different to work. At their wedding, she decided they were — and ran out.
“We haven’t talked since the wedding day,” Cuevas tells The Post, revealing that she ghosted him after ditching him at the altar. “I reached out at some point — nothing bad, just to say, like, ‘Hey, I hope everything’s going well, I hope everything’s doing all right.’ I didn’t hear back. But to me, it’s just sending love out there. Like, ‘Hey, I hope you’re doing OK.’ And that’s that.”
Since the show’s Feb. 13 premiere, the audience has responded to Cuevas. His Instagram following has ballooned from just over 1,000 to more than 127,500 at press time. Fan reactions on Twitter call out Jessica’s treatment of him.
“Is anyone else watching ‘Love Is Blind’ on Netflix? I can’t stand Jessica or Barnett. I really love Mark. It’s very unfortunate that men like Mark always fall for the assholes like Jessica,” one fan tweeted.
“Mark deserves so much better than Jessica” was another common fan sentiment.
But Cuevas says he doesn’t have regrets about the experience.
“I’ll be very honest about this situation — this was the best thing that ever happened to me,” he says. “Without Jess, there would not be a Mark of today. I really am thankful for Jess and everything that we went through, because she challenged me in a lot of different ways. The age gap is a real thing, and things that I didn’t know that I needed to be ready for — she prepared me for that mentally. I’m so thankful for that. So I wouldn’t do anything different. It taught me so many values in terms of how I want to be, in a relationship.”
