Mark Hamill calls Ivanka a ‘fraud’ for posting image of son as Stormtrooper
It was the revenge of the Jedi – but many thought he ventured to the dark side.
Mark Hamill is facing a firestorm for slamming Ivanka Trump as a “fraud” for tweeting a photo of herself, hubby Jared and their kids — with their youngest, Theodore, dressed up as a Stormtrooper.
“The Force is strong in my family,” the first daughter captioned her image.
“You misspelled ‘Fraud.’ #GoForceYourself,” the 68-year-old “Star Wars” icon, who played Jedi hero Luke Skywalker in the famed franchise, said in a tweet Sunday.
The Tatooine farmboy’s attack on Ivanka and her family was met with considerable resistance.
“Goddamn, Mr. Hamill. A kid in a Star Wars costume isn’t political. People are allowed to like Star Wars. Nice. Picking on a kid. High class,” user Magog of Morskar said in response to Hamill.
Another user, Clair Boyce, added: “Not cool Mark! She’s just trying to have a nice Sunday with her family (thumbs down emoji) her kids are there and even dressed up!”
Some also pointed out that dressing up little Theodore as one of the evil Galactic Empire’s foot soldiers under the command of Darth Vader was not the wisest of choices.
“The only problem is that the star wars troopers are traitors in the movie. They change sides and fight against the Jedi and the good ones and against the republic,” user theomnichaos wrote on Instagram.
“And fight for the Sith (the evil guys in the universe). But nevertheless: Sweet, that trooper. :-),” the user added.
Hamill, a frequent critic of President Trump, has supported a campaign to buy Twitter for the sole purpose of booting the commander-in-chief from it.
In August 2017, he backed a GoFundMe cause that sought to raise $1 billion to become a majority shareholder for Twitter, the president’s favorite social media platform.
