On Thursday, Reichel Foods Inc. announced the recall of Pro2Snax to the Max snack kits containing hard boiled eggs products and on Christmas Eve, Great American Deli of Ooltewah, Tennessee, recalled egg sandwiches in 21 states.
Products made with eggs including two types of salads sold at Trader Joe’s are being recalled over concerns they may be contaminated with listeria, which can cause serious and at times deadly infections in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems.

The products may have been contaminated by broken egg white products, supplied by Almark, which may have contained Listeria monocytogenes.

This week, Almark expanded the recall to products sold directly to consumers with “Best If Used By” dates up through March 2, 2020.

The egg and potato salad products were sent to Trader Joe’s markets throughout the U.S. The affected states are Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin. The products were also delivered to stores in Washington, D.C.
If you have purchased one of these items, company officials say to toss it immediately or take it back to where you bought it and receive a full refund.

According to the notice, the sandwiches could have been delivered in the following states through convenience stores, micro markets and vending machines: Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
“Consumers who have purchased the affected sandwiches are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the notice states. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-343-1327 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
