Whispers of Tom Brady-Bruce Arians ‘tension’ are growing louder
Bruce Arians chastizing Tom Brady has become a pastime in Tampa Bay this season, and it appears tensions could be running deep.
During an appearance Wednesday on ESPN’s “Get Up,” NFL insider Dan Graziano elaborated on the potential discord between the Buccaneers head coach and his six-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback.
“There’s a lot of theories, obviously it was supposed to work better than this, but one of them is that there is real tension,” Graziano said. “Bruce Arians and Tom Brady just met, right, it’s almost like Arians was watching some sort of movie star action-hero, and then met him in person and said, ‘I thought you’d be bigger.’”
Graziano then added how Brady — who signed a two-year, $50 million deal with the Buccaneers in March — “had the ability to kind of direct how the roster was constructed to a certain extent,” noting the high-profile additions of veteran running backs Leonard Fournette and LeSean McCoy, the formerly retired Rob Gronkowski, and, most recently, embattled receiver Antonio Brown.
